Kittywake

Tester terms

These terms are between you and Startling Ltd, which runs Kittywake. You agree to them when you join. How we handle personal data is in the privacy notice.

Last updated 18 October 2026.

The beta

  • Kittywake is in a private beta, and it's free while you're a tester.
  • It's a test version. It will have faults, it may be down, and we may change or remove features, or end the beta, at any time.
  • You must be 18 or over.

Telling people Kitty is there

  • Before or at the start of every meeting you bring Kitty into, tell everyone there that Kitty is taking notes, that it uses AI, and that they can ask it to leave.
  • Never use Kitty secretly. Don't hide it, don't rename it to disguise what it is, and don't bring it into a meeting where people haven't been told.
  • Kitty asks everyone else to agree before it takes notes of them, and keeps nothing of anyone who doesn't. You agreed by sending it.
  • Only put someone in the notes from your meeting page once they have said yes out loud. Never put in anyone who hasn't.
  • If anyone objects, remove Kitty, or let them say "Kitty, leave".
  • Only bring Kitty into meetings you're taking part in, and where you're allowed to have a meeting transcribed (for example, where your organisation's rules allow it).

Meetings Kitty shouldn't be in

  • Meetings that are mainly about someone's health, or other sensitive personal matters, such as medical appointments, counselling, or disciplinary and grievance meetings.
  • Meetings with children.
  • Anything illegal, or anything meant to collect information about people without them knowing.

Kitty's notes

  • Kitty uses AI. Its transcript, notes, answers, drawings and what it says about documents can be wrong. Check them before you rely on them or share them.
  • You're responsible for what you do with Kitty's notes and results, including who you share them with.
  • Everything from a meeting is deleted 30 days after it, unless you choose to keep it for up to 12 months on its review page. Even then its transcript is deleted after 30 days, so download anything you want from it before then.
  • If you keep a meeting, Kittywake tells the people you sent the summary to. Telling anyone else who was in it is up to you.

What Kitty makes is yours

  • Notes, transcripts, drawings and summaries that Kitty makes from your meetings belong to you, or to the organisation you use Kittywake for. We don't own any of it.
  • We use it only to run Kittywake for you, and we delete it after 30 days, or after 12 months if you choose to keep a meeting. The one exception: when Kitty can't do something it's asked, we note in a few words what kind of thing it was, such as "directions", so we know what to build.
  • People you send a summary to may use it. The people in your meetings keep their rights over their own personal data, as our privacy notice explains.

Documents

  • Only add documents you're allowed to share with everyone in the meeting. Anyone there can ask Kitty to show them.
  • Don't add documents that are mainly about someone's health or other sensitive personal matters, such as medical or HR records.

Logos

  • Only upload logos you're allowed to use: your own organisation's, or someone else's with their agreement.
  • Logos you choose show on Kitty's stage, where everyone in the meeting can see them.

Limits

Each tester has 1,000 credits a month, free during the beta. Each meeting uses credits for what it costs to run, and your Credits page shows what each one used. Credits left from a month's 1,000 don't carry over to the next month.

When your credits run out, a meeting going on carries on to the end. Kitty can't join another until more are added or the next month starts. Kitty stays in a meeting for up to 2 hours, and you can have one meeting at a time. We can change these limits.

Your meetings

We don't look at your meetings unless you share one with support. Each look is logged with its reason, and you can see the log on the meeting's page.

Feedback

If you send us feedback or report a problem, we may use it to improve Kittywake.

If you like Kittywake

  • We may ask you for a few words about Kittywake that we can quote, with your name and organisation, on our website and in other material about Kittywake. We only use them if you say yes, and you can ask us to stop at any time.
  • We may also ask to show your organisation's name and logo as one of the organisations that use Kittywake. Only say yes if you have permission to agree for your organisation, and you can ask us to take it down at any time.

Ending

  • You can stop at any time, and ask us to delete your account and everything in it.
  • We can end your access if you break these terms, and when the beta ends.

Responsibility

Kittywake is provided as it is, for testing. As far as the law allows, we aren't responsible for losses from using it, including losses from mistakes in Kitty's notes. Nothing in these terms limits anything the law doesn't allow us to limit.

Changes to these terms

If we change these terms, we will tell you first. If you don't agree to the new terms, you can stop and ask us to delete your account.

The law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
